The Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Sports

The Rio 2016 Summer Olympics is featuring 28 sports broken down to 306 events for seventeen days from 41 disciplines. The Games will take 17 days, starting on the 5th of August and Ending on the 21st of August. There will be 306 medal events and over 200 nations are expected to participate. The sports featured in this 31st edition of the Summer Olympics Games will feature two sports that were last included in the early editions of the Summer Olympics Games; in the 1904 Summer Olympics held in Missouri, St. Louis, USA and the 1924 Summer Olympics held in Amsterdam, Netherlands. These two sports are Golf and Rugby respectively. These sports and events are shown in the table below and are from 42 disciplines.
