Overview on the Equestrian at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics

Equestrian has been part of the Summer Olympics for 24 editions and it will feature for the 25th time in the 2016 Rio Olympics. Download the whole 2016 Summer Olympics Equestrian Schedule

At the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics Equestrian is scheduled for early August.

The Equestrian sport will have three events and these are:

Equestrian Eventing for both individual and team

Equestrian Dressage for both individual and team

Equestrian Jumping for both individual and team

All the equestrian sports events at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics will take place at the National Equestrian Center in Rio, located in the Deodoro Venue Clusters; This is in the Rio’s west zone and it is one of the most populated part of the city. Apparently, this is the same venue for the Equestrian events for the Rio 2016 Summer Paralympics.

The equestrian sport will commence on 5th August with the first horse inspection for the Eventing, however competitions will start on the 7th of August. These three events will have 34 activities with the equestrian eventing having the most as it has 16 activities; however they include the two horse inspections. Besides there are 2 medal ceremonies for individual and team.

Men and women will compete directly as this is only summer Olympics sport that allow men and women to compete directly.
